Update

•March 31, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Just a quick update, been a bit lazy updating this past few days. Apologies for that. I will update Saturday’s results at some stage.

Anyways we have decided to create a new blog to deal with the Betfair adventure it can be located here http://www.kejiskeen.wordpress.com or over on the right hand side.

This new blog will have far more informative (hopefully) tips than my own efforts over the past six weeks, I’m aware that’s not saying much. There are two up today however to make life easier we will document results from tomorrow April Fools Day!

I’ll continue to update this blog with my own ramblings now and again.

Cheers Rich

Tips for today. These are seperate to any other project and will probably the last few tips I partake in on my own for a while. All my energies will be going into that project from now on.

  • 2.15 2PT E/W Kerada 6/1 – Booking of Geragty made mind up on this. Though there are a number of others who are interesting Queen Poline being the main one.
  • 3.10 1PT E/W Viva Vettori 16/1 – Trends pick, decent win last time out. Bit of a longshot though ..
  • 3.10 1PT E/W Albaqaa 14/1 – Plucked from a hat, ground should suit. Was going to pick Mia’s Boy also but decided against it. I wouldn’t be backing Penitent at 3/1 though, I’d be a layer at that price (watch that one win now)
  • 5.45 2PT E/W Gio Ponti 6/1 – In my opinion it’s the best horse in race simples.

I know I was going to leave Meydan alone but Gio Ponti in my opinion is a cut above his rivals here in my opinion and at 6/1 is a stand out price. I’ll of course be cheering Gitano Hernando on at the same time, so I’d definitely settle for a 1-2 on these pair.

There’s a number of other horses I’ve got my eye on but they are all price dependent and ideally I want to see what the market does first before taking the plunge. The 3.25 at Kempton is definitely a race which I’ll be keen to see where the money heads as the one I like the most Suits Me I’d rather have a bit more than 6/4 with a couple of decent horses in opposition. The others I like at the minute at Kempton are Tiddliwinks in the 2.20 and Love Delta in the 5.10 but again it depends on the price. Osric in the 3.20 at Newbury fits the same boat as I think it will win. It’s quite possible I’ll have a little treble on those three – as per normal one will then lose.

I have also had a football related bet picked up from a Facebook page. Got to keep my fingers in as many pies 😉

Double on these two under/overs pays 2.60/1

Lincoln v Northampton – Over 2.5

Brentford v Leyton Orient – Under 2.5

As for the Mighty Town, well today their away at Swansea who were thumped 5-1 last time out, however if Ipswich play anything like they did on Tuesday night the bet would definitely be Swansea and probably to nil.

 Best in race?

Best of luck.

The new project

So I’ve been talking about this new project a fair bit lately, well tomorrow it kicks off the plan is to deposit £100 into a Betfair account and from there hopefully turn it into a fair bit more. I’ll be participating in this project with another guy who to be fair has more knowledge of the game so it will only benefit myself, he’s a good looking bloke aswell so I’ve attached a photo for you all.

As far as the blog goes, it’s quite possible we’ll either take over this one, I’ll let him post his random boring thoughts also or create another and blog about the project on their only, linking it with this one, no doubt I’ll have a few bets which the partner in crime doesn’t agree with. I’ll keep you informed regards that from tomorrow .. one thing the past month has told me is how useful these can be in limiting losses, I was never one to track every bet but now through the advent of the blog that’s something that’s become mandatory. It’s also handy as I’ve managed to get a few decent football related bets from other blogs so cheers for all the other blogs on the right!

As for yesterday a loss of 0.65PT which was somewhat disappointing, red days are the norm but at least Duneen Dream managed to gets its nose infront to win the 7.50, which softened the blow. Off work for 5 nights from the morning so it will be nice to sit down and watch Doncaster and Meydan tomorrow with a few cans. Birthday parties on Sunday – I always seem to be at birthday parties!

Will have some bets up for tomorrow later.

2 at Wolves

Its impossible updating this by mobile anyhow, two 1pt each way shots. 7.40 duneen dream 5/1, 9.10 turf time 11/2

F for Friday

So I was going to have a dry few days, then I received an email from someone regarding today’s and Saturday’s racing and lo and behold I decided to take a look and see if there’s anything of interest. As usual having looked at www.attheraces.co.uk ,www.racingpost.co.uk and the morning’s papers (perk of working where I do!) for a while and divulged said email I’ve come up with the following. I’ve taken current prices as I don’t plan on being awake for any of the day.

  • 2PT E/W 2.55 Rebecca’s Choice 5/1
  • 2PT WIN 3.20 Newman des Plages 3.83 Betfair
  • 1PT WIN 4.05 Sir Kezbaah 3.2 Betfair

I’ve also highlighted four or five at Wolverhampton later, but as normal will see how these fare firstly before taking them on. I’ve also backed a live outsider for the Lincoln based on trends and at 16/1 it has a decent each way shot. The price of the favourite has plummeted somewhat last few days so some people will be sitting pretty on him. As for the Dubai World Cup it’s likely to be a watch for me although my new partner in crime has backed Gitano Hernando in from about 12s to its current price, therefore I’ll be cheering that one on.

Payday today also which is nice, won’t last long mind – M.O.T on car due next week  – I’d be surprised if it passes any test let alone all of them, Deposit on Holiday needs paying and the youngest is 5 on Sunday so presents will have to be bought. I’ve managed to get the missus a little present though which will keep her sweet for a while!

Happy hunting all and hopefully Wolves later will add to a positive day!

Festival Downs

Never bother backing anything at Festival Downs on B365!

Got a bit bored today whilst having a few beers this morning, been working the past seven nights hence the need for Kronenbourg. From there I managed to back three jollies at Festival Downs and all three came second, quite amusing really. I also decided to have a rather wild accumulator bet involving 8 horses, needed 5 of them to win to return a profit needless to say only 4 came home first past the post. I think it’s fair to say today was a bit of a right off. Way it goes though, there’s a lesson somewhere involving finance and drinking.

I’m going to take a few days off from the blog and betting in general, I will be going into partnership soon on a new venture on Betfair and until then I’m going to keep the powder dry. Just got to find some new boots to keep the missus happy. Ciao!

edit – like I lied!

Good day

•March 24, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Well what a strange day.

Benny be Good wins 5/1 early price backed into 10/3

Lease Lend drifts from 11/4 to 9/2 wins

Gamesters Lady wins by a country mile at 8/11

Nearby a non runner and Overlaw beaten, still terrific stuff for once, I can hardly believe it. I’ve put a few bets on at Kempton tonight though they are all pretty long prices so don’t expect much of a return

  • 6.20 1PT WIN Lunar Limelight 11/4
  • 7.50 0.5PT WIN Kinky Afro 9/1 – I’d have taken this one e/w but annoyingly its a 7 runner race so just a small win bet, the favourite is a higher class but having it’s first run.
  • 8.50 1PT E/W Whodunit 5/1
  • 9.20 1PT E/W Louisade 7/1

Just to clarify with the 1PT Each Way bets this would mean 0.5 on the win and 0.5 on the each way. Good luck to all betting tonight and I hope you were on Benny be Good or Lease Lend!

edit – Kempton sucked! 6.7 Point profit on the day though, I just had to get this photo up it’s very rare to get a winner so even rarer to find a photo of one!

Painful stuff

Okay so at long last I’ve updated the results page for March, I’ll be graphing it all at some stage – wait for the downward slope.

Cheltenham was as predicted a bit of a nightmare, the fact it took me until 4.40 on the Thursday when BallaBriggs used up all his reserves to win to notch my first win says it all. The only positive results really were that one, Soldatino and Dee ee Williams being placed at 33/1. Pretty disastrous really – but as I said the other it could have been so much better. If only The Package and Somersby had another 50 yards to run I’m certain both would have won and if only Hey Big Spender and Restless Harry had both stayed on their feet it’s possible they would have at least placed. The overall result at Cheltenham then was a loss of 11.03 Points which does sound pretty bad in the cold light of day.

The overall running total for March is also looking pretty bleak now with a loss on the overall month of 21.63 Points. The only saving grace is that by doing this blog thing I’m honest to myself with how much I’m down! Hey Hugh Taylor’s tips have been pretty average lately also so one has to remain positive.

I’d add yesterday’s personal selections were made a little beetter by the fact I had a few pounds on Newcastle beating Doncaster thanks to another blog. The only sad thing is I also had them in a double with Colchester so that negated the win from the single!

Today’s selections are below in what looks a pretty interesting day.

  • 2.30 2PT WIN Gamesters Lady
  • 2.40 1PT WIN Nearby
  • 3.50 1PT WIN Lease Lend 11/4
  • 4.25 2PT E/W Benny be Good 5/1
  • 4.50 2PT WIN Overlaw

Have a few I like at Kempton also, so I’ll post these up and prices taken on the above after getting some kip. Benny be Good is the Racing Post NAP today so 5/1 looks a decent price, I’d expect it to go off shorter it’s last outing was behind the impressive Double Expresso and there’s nothing of that standard in this race.
